Breast Implants Oregon

Aging, weight loss, breastfeeding, genetics, and many more factors play a part in making the breasts appear small. Breast implants are a great way to rejuvenate the chest and achieve volume and fullness. The implants we offer can help you regain lost size or help you achieve the breasts you’ve always wanted. No matter your desired aesthetic, breast implants are highly customizable and will help you achieve your goal of a fuller, more voluptuous breast look and feel.

What Are Breast Implants?

Breast Implants Add Volume

Breast implants are silicone pockets that are either filled with a salt-water solution or soft gel. These implants are placed inside the breasts to add fullness, shape and projection. Implants are often sought out by women who are unhappy with the size and shape of their chests. Breast implants have been used for many years with an excellent safety record and are one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries performed today.

Dr. Leffel prides herself on providing excellent care and beautiful results for each woman that undergoes breast enlargement surgery. If you are looking to transform your appearance, breast implants are your perfect solution.

Customizing Your Implant

Breast implants are personalized to the aesthetic you desire. There are many factors to consider when deciding which implant is perfect for you. Some of these factors include:

Type of Implant

Implant Options

We offer two types of FDA-approved implants: saline and silicone. Saline implants consist of a silicone shell filled with a saline solution. Silicone implants also have a silicone shell but are also filled with a soft silicone gel that feels more like natural breast tissue.

Size of Implants

Implant sizes range from 100cc to 900cc. Whether you are looking for small breast implants are large implants, we can match you with the perfect volume for your goals.

Shape of Implants

Implants come in round and anatomical shapes. Round shapes allow for the implant to provide equal volume throughout the breast and improve cleavage.

Anatomic or teardrop breast implants have a thicker base and thinner top, which provides a more natural shape to the breasts.

Texture of Implants

We provide the option of smooth or textured implants. Smooth implants will move naturally within the breasts whereas textured implants will feel more natural and adhere to the surrounding breast tissue.

Dr. Leffel and you will discuss the many different elements of implants in your consultation to determine what your best choice is.

Surgery Details

Custom Implant Surgery

Once you have chosen your ideal implants, you will also be educated on the procedure details and options available. Dr. Leffel will inform you of the options and determine which techniques she believes will provide your best, long-lasting results.

Incisions

Breast implants can be inserted through the armpit (axilla incision), along the breast crease (inframammary incision) or around the areola (areolar or periareolar incision). The inframammary incision is the most common technique used to place an implant but Dr. Leffel decides which incision suits you best.

Placement of Implants

Implants are placed either above or below the pectoral muscle.

The most common implant placement is below the pectoral muscle. This allows for the implant to act as a breast mound and prop up the natural breast tissue.

Breast implants can be placed above the muscle when there is enough tissue to sufficiently cover the implant and still have a natural appearance.

Allergan Breast Implant Recall

Recently, Allergan issued a recall on BioCell textured implants and tissue expanders due to a concern that the implants may be connected to an extremely rare cancer called BIA-ALCL. If found early on, this cancer can be quickly treated by removing the implant and tissue surrounding it. Although the Leffel Center does not carry Allergan breast implants, we put our patients’ safety first.

We take your health seriously and will do all we can to make sure you enjoy your results for years to come. That’s why we offer annual, free check-ups to ensure your implants and breasts are in good condition. Aside from these annual check-ups, we encourage patients to perform at-home examinations. You can never be too cautious, so if you feel a bump or irregularity it is best to contact your doctor or our office for a second opinion.

Benefits

Breast implants have a transformational effect on the chest and will help you appear younger and healthier.

The chest shows off a woman’s youth and enhances her curves. Time, aging, and weight fluctuations can reduce breast tissue. Implants will provide volume and increase the size of the breasts. One of the primary reasons we love breast implants is because of how customizable they are. If you have a specific aesthetic in mind, you can easily achieve that dream with implants.

Candidates

Women who are bothered by the size of their breasts and have been considering cosmetic enhancement for a while are good candidates for recieving breast implants. Ideally, the patient will be in overall good health and within their ideal weight range.

To truly know if you are a candidate for breast implants, give our office a call. We will answer your questions and set you up for a meeting with Dr. Leffel.

Personal Consultation

Dr. Linda Leffel and the staff at the Leffel Center strive to provide our patients with excellent care.

Your personal consultation with Dr. Leffel is your time to ask questions, voice concerns, and learn all about breast implant surgery. Dr. Leffel will make sure you understand the surgical process and how it will impact your feminine physique. The benefits, required care and potential risks will also be discussed.

Our priority is your health and safety. Dr. Leffel will inquire about your health, past procedures, medications, allergies, and desired aesthetic. This information will help her determine if breast implants are the right solution for you.

Preparation

A helpful way to prepare for your surgery is to make a list of everything you need to do and what date it needs to be completed by. This list will include things like filling and picking up prescriptions, arranging rides, scheduling someone to stay with you after surgery, planning meals, and more. We want you to have a successful, healthy surgery and recovery. The best way to make sure everything goes smoothly is to prepare.

Dr. Leffel will provide you with instructions on how to get ready. Following these instructions will set you up for success, and if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call!

Breast Augmentation Procedure

The whole surgery will take about two hours.

Anesthesia will be administered and allow you to fall asleep and rest throughout the surgery. Once the anesthesia is working, Dr. Leffel will apply the predetermined incisions. Implants will be placed through the incisions and attached to each breast. Once they are securely in place, the incisions will be closed. Dr. Leffel will bandage the chest and you will be monitored until you wake up.

Recovery

Compression Garment Post-Surgery

The key to a healthy recovery is to take it slow. Get plenty of rest and don’t push yourself. Staying hydrated will help flush out fluids and allow your body to run smoothly. You will need to sleep in an upright position on your back for about two weeks and then just on your back for another four weeks. Avoid lifting your arms above your shoulders, picking up heavy objects or strenuous activities for six weeks as well.

Activities like brief walks will improve your healing process and help diminish swelling. Any discomfort can be controlled with medication.

Results

You will instantly notice the impressive results achieved by your procedure. You will immediately be aware of an improvement in the size and shape of your breasts. These results will get better and better as the swelling goes down.

Patients often notice that the final appearance of their breasts sets in after a couple of months. Breast implants provide long-lasting results that will last you years! Get ready to show off your amazing results in low-cut tops and bikinis.

To keep your breasts looking attractive for years, remain healthy and keep a stable weight.

Complementary Procedures

Breast implant surgery is frequently combined with a breast lift to provide impressive, beautiful results. Breast implants provide the volume and fullness you desire but cannot improve sagging skin.

A breast lift will remove unnecessary skin and lift the breasts. When combined with implants, women are able to achieve their best results.

If you have recently lost weight, have breastfed, or are feeling self-conscious about droopy breasts, a breast lift is perfect for you. Combining a breast lift with implants will rejuvenate your chest and provide you with a young, perky profile. Ask Dr. Leffel about combining these treatments during your personal consultation.
